DIY Mussel Choker
In this guide we will show you how to make your own DIY mussel choker. We also include targets if you want to make a bracelet or ankle chain instead. The necklace is quite beginner friendly, but the nodes between the mussels may well tease. Remember to tighten them well - good luck!
Materials you need to use:
- ECOCORD NYLON Cord 1 mm
- Mussels
- Glass beads in size 5/0 or other pearls with a large hole (to the ends of the cords that are tightened and loosened on the chocer)
Schedule of Material Consumption:
How to do:
1. Cut the string to the correct length.
2. Collect the two ends so that the string is double and tie a knot 17 cm down on the side where the ends of the string are.
3. Cut the ends at the bending of the string so you have two cords to work with.
4. Pull the mussels on the string - pass one string through the mussel from the top and the other from the bottom so that the cords cross inside the mussel.
5. Tie a knot close to the clam so it can't slip.
6. Repeat until the jewelry has the desired length.
7. Finish with beads on the cords and burn the ends with super glue.
If the mussels do not lie flat, you can rub them against the thigh to make them settle nicely.
Closing with knot shooting:
Use the excess string for the knot closure.
1. Lay the cords in parallel
2. Tie a knot around all 4 cords
3. Now begin to associate. You can find a more throughout road extension here!
The cords must alternately be the top and bottom string. Then 1 and 2 change space, for each knot that gets tied
4. Continue like that until you think your clench is long enough - usually they are about 1 cm.
5. Place a little glue where the cords come out on the last knot. Be very neglected so that you do not get the clue tightened. Put a little super glue on a patch of paper and use a security needle to apply the glue gently!
6. Cut the ends and gently burn them
7. tighten and loosen your jewelry a few times so you are sure that the glue has not glued the closure firmly to the cords under
A voilá !! Now your jewelry is finished <33
