Types of boxes and their function: 

An open jump ring Often used to put in a chain or as a pendant and a chain. It can be opened and fixed - it is just important that it closes tightly again. See guidance further down the page 

A soldered jump ring Is completely closed and "welded" together of molten metal so that it cannot be opened. It is ideal to use clamping pearls or when making jewelry on a leash. Since there is no opening, g is not a risk of the string sliding out, making the jewelry more durable. 

An oval jump ring is an oblong jump ring And can also be used for jewelry on a leash. In most cases, the string will remain in the narrow end of the cord and do not slip out of the opening. How to close an open jump ring correct? 

Follow this picture series to make sure you are closing an open jump ring correct:  

1. Use two flat rides and place them on either side of the opening

2. Twist the opening up at a straight angle so the ends are not pulled apart 

3. Mount what is to sit on the box 

4. Then place the two flat rigs on either side of the opening again and twist the wedged back into place

5. If not closed completely tightly, you can gently pry the two ends back and forth until the egg is fully closed
